"There are no stupid questions" - that is total BS - there are a lot of
stupid questions, starting with "does my ass look fat in this dress?" - If you ask that question of someone, they are totally screwed because there is no right answer.

What other stupid questions do people ask?

48. Next time you're with a bunch of people in different professions, ask them
what stupid remarks/questions they hear again and again.

Actors: "How do you learn all those lines?"

English teachers: "Oh, now I'll have to watch how I speak."

Mathematicians: "Oh, I was never any good at math."

Clergy: "What's it like to work only one day a week?"

Foreign language teachers: "I can't even speak English."

Tall people: "How's the air up there?"

Japanese-English Translators:

"Are you fluent?" (Don't they realize that's the same as asking, "Are you competent?")
"Have you been to Japan?" (No, I've just devoted my entire adult life to work connected with this modern and easily accessible country, but I've never been to it.)

When I was a graduate student in linguistics, the most common question was, "Are you going to be an interpreter at the U.N.?"

Add your own.

In my junior year of highschool a fellow student asked our history teacher these two questions:

"Did we fight the Amercian Revolution against the French?"

"Were there motorized tanks in 1812?"

I kid you not and this was a NY State Regents history class, but then again she was blonde and a cheerleader, sorry for the sterotyping but this particular case was true.

Also I used to work at a city park by the lake as an admissions attendant and TPTB used to not allow dogs because they were afraid of lawsuits if someone got bit, and also didn't want people having to step in doggie doo doo. Not defending the policy just stating what it was. Any way there were signs up all over saying no dogs, and even a sign with a picture of a dog and a slash drawn through it, and sure enough almost everyday someone would come up to me and ask "can I bring my dog in?" One lady even tried "but it's not a dog, it's a puppy doesn't that make a difference?"

Personally I always wanted to ask them "Can you read?"

65. That's not actually a stupid question; it just sounds like one
The day we celebrate the signing of the Declaration of Independence is no longer called The Fourth of July--it's called Independence Day, because it's celebrated on the first Friday or the first Monday in July. whichever one's closest to the 4th. They do this because everyone hates taking a day off for the Fourth on Thursday, going in for one day then taking a three-day weekend. With Independence Day, you always have a four-day weekend.

Lots of people still call Independence Day by its original name, The Fourth of July.

Since "The Fourth of July" is a synonym for "Independence Day," it makes sense that people would ask the date.
