Forgive me...
I sit in a "Safe area" in the house due to a tornado warning and a fierce storm raging (that sounds to be bringing some limbs down on the outside of the house.) Found the radio station that was giving a good weather update - and it is an oldie station (back to my kid years music). First I hear- and realize I am tapping the toe to ... Abba. Yikes - but it was such good "bubblegum"... then worse yet... Old Charlie Daniels (devil with a violin theme song)... I know in recent years Charlie has gone absurdly rwing - but that old song - I enjoyed hearing it (it had probably been twenty years since I had heard it).

Darn storms. Brings out the old teenybopper with little taste-discrimination of old seventies music.

Please don't judge me... ;-)

3. no - but I do have a story per that song
not a big one -but one that later made me feel old.

In middle school I won a radio contest and a 45 (remember those) of the song - woohoo - loved the song - with NO idea of the meaning.

A number of years later (while still in my early twenties) am in your neck of the country - maybe Venice - and hear a bunch of teenagers screaming aloud all of the words to George Michael's "I want your Sex!" and was frankly shocked (and felt old for having the reaction) - til I realized my own reaction (and screaming aloud to the lyrics with no sense for the whole meaning) of... Afternoon Delight. Somethings change - and others stay the same.
