Poll question: Favorite documentary host/ author/ narrator
Edited on Fri Jul-22-05 01:14 AM by undisclosedlocation
I don't think we have these here frankly, but if you want to say Bill Moyers I'm not going to argue with you. Called "presenters" in BBC-speak, but that subject line went over HUGE.

Did you know David Attenborough's been doing this since 1952? The guy is clearly indestructible, apart from being brilliant and my personal god.

If you haven't seen Charlotte Uhlenbroek yet, you'll like her. She's insanely attractive, her enthusiasm is infectious and her scientific knowledge is top-drawer. A worthy successor to Sir David. Looks like this: (If you only voted for her after seeing the picture, shame shame shame:P)

Hey, I only have 9 slots to deal with 50 years or so of TV and I have to put 2 Python alums on. If you want the rest, this is a reasonably terrific site: http://www.bbcfactual.co.uk/

Actually conceived this to see if anybody liked contemporary BBC irritants Simon Sharma and Iain Stewart, but they wound up not making the cut. If you do like either of them, though, do kindly share.

7. Heh...
I think people are just geeky about different things...I'm kind of a renaissance geek, though, so I have a pretty broad range. :)

5. Alistair Cooke!
For many years, he was the voice of Masterpiece Theater, which I watched faithfully! Such an elegant, eloquent gentleman...I loved him!

Charlotte Uhlenbroek. wow what a stunner. I'll have to check out some of her stuff if she's as good as you say.

9. Haven't seen him, heard him, read him, but always heard good things
about him. Yeah, Charlotte's very cool. Her shows come up on the Science Channel, unfortunately infrequently heretofore.
