I saw a good bumper sticker today in Colorado Springs, of all places.
I was driving downtown, which is pretty much the only place to find liberals here in the home of Focus on the Family, Colorado for Family values, etc....

So, I drove by a car with a "work harder: millions of people on welfare are depending on you". That had me rolling my eyes as usual. Fortunately, they rolled right over to the left side of Bijou ave. where I spotted a van with:

"Christian by choice:
Democrat by the grace of God"

Whoever put that on that on their car in *this* town has a lot of guts! I mean, it's practically blasphemy to insinuate that God isn't a Republican...

2. Thank The Goddess that I was never stationed in Colorado
If I did, I would end up really hating the place

3. That depends...
There are (and were) some installations in and around Denver. Denver is really cool, and a good jumping off point for the mountains. You can be at the high country ski mountains in about 1-1.5 hours. It's also close to Boulder, which is very liberal and also a nice place.

Colorado Springs, well... not so nice, farther from skiing, but also close to other mountain activities. We also have clean air and the best tap water anywhere in America that I have ever tasted. And, if you really wanted to head down there, you could be in Mexico inside of 8 hours. New Mexico is obviously pretty close too.

6. Um, yeah.
Have you ever lived here? CC takes up 3 blocks and has about 1200 students. They are far outweighed by our 5 military installations and our over 15 evangelical religious organizations. Oh, El Paso county hasn't had a single Democratic comissioner since at least the 70's, possibly the 60's (I don't remember exactly), and Republicans outnumber Democrats on the registration rolls by a 2 to one ratio.

Are you aware that Dobson gets a 5 minute editorial on one of our local news channels every morning? I think that's the deal, of course I don't watch that channel anymore.

Unless you've lived here, and maybe you have, you can't comment on this situation.
