Under the heading of "Things I Would Never Know If I Didn't Watch TV". They age bike racer's tires in a wine-like cellar. They say it "dries out the glue(?) and makes the tire more flexible and less likely to puncture".

I wouldn't sell them for $100 each right now. Worth more than their weight in gold (about 175gr each).
