22. Good question.
Winter because it is such a peaceful indoor time of the year. The ice and snow turn everything into a fairy tale world. I love to be baking, reading and taking care of the birds during this time of the year.

Fall because is seems to be the end of all things. I hate watching the plants die. Perhaps it may also be because fall was the end of my freedom for so many years. Out of my 62 years, I spent 48 of them in school. The fall was the time I had to work the hardest with the least amount of reward.

31. Yes, that's true
It is a melancholy time of year in some respects.

I love the winter too but we don't get snow where I live--
just rain. I absolutely love the rain!! I wouldn't want it
every day, of course, but it's always been magical to me.

I love to putter around indoors when it's cold outside--
doing the things you describe. For me, that's true happiness.

(And I love the birds, too)
:)

at night.

I just despise it now.

I don't have central air, only those window unit things. And they pretty much don't work well. The coolest I can hope for in here on a day like today is 85 degrees F. But we're moving in August, so we'll get central air then :woohoo:

I have to restrain myself from slapping them. (Not really,

41. I've just pretty much given up on them
In past years, during the summer, I would go see a movie in a theater atleast once a week. This summer I've seen four movies (RoTS, Batman, WoTW and Charlie) in a theater. I was slightly intrigued by The Island, before the reviews, and still might see The Fantastic Four just because I've seen every comic book movie.

the best part of WoTW was the visuals and the sound so seeing that in a theater is neat, if you are going to see it at all. Unless of course you have a giant screen tv in your house with a rocking sound system, then you can wait.

Some movies are good for their visual effect alone. Plus, the SO wants to see it. So we may go, during a matinee.

15. We agree.
I love the crispness of the air, the color of the leaves, getting to wear sweaters, hot chocolate and tea, the harvest especially the grapes and the apples.

Spring is eh okay.

I absolutely despise both winter and summer but summer the most. I hate the humidity and the bugs. YUCK, YUCK, YUCK. At least in winter you can blast the furnace and bundle up to get warm.

But in summer there is a limit to what females can take off and not all places are air conditioned. We only have an air conditioner in one room and fans. None of which work as well as the furnace in winter.

Our winters are mild, and our summers are unbearable.

Spring is a wonderful few weeks when I can garden to my heart's content without suffering too much. And I can see everything bloom-- daffodils, tulips, Bradford pear trees, and so many other gorgeous flowers.

44. Fall
It is the most temperate season, as far as I'm concerned. Many times, we either have cool springs or springs that quickly go into summer. Plus, fall is the lead up to my favorite part of the year - the holidays (specifically for me, Christmas.) Also, the Old Farmers' Almanac is right that you appreciate whatever nature offers more when the trees are barren.

I like autumn for a whole bunch of reasons. I love the changing leaf colors, the temperate weather that leans toward the cool side, and like another poster said, the lead up to the holiday season (my birthday's in November, too, so that helps ;) ). I also love the extra hour we get when Daylight Saving Time ends. I like Winter, and I like snow, except I hate the shoveling part. Summer's too hot, too muggy and buggy. I don't like Spring because of the start of Daylight Saving Time (which I think we should just get rid of). My whole internal clock gets screwed up for about a week because of the time loss.

Edit: I'm proud to see a lot of DUers who also like autumn.:applause:

54. Spring ~ glorious Spring!
Spring is a time to shed the troubles of Winter like I shed the heavy, restrictive clothing that's hampered my freedom since late Fall. The trees bud and flower, the migrating birds return to play in the bird bath and drink the fresh nectar that's always waiting for them. Lilac bushes become covered with fragrant blooms.

AND Summer's on it's way

I think it's the old "back to school" thing. New clothes, a new schedule and the belief that "this year everyting will be different" although of course it never was. LOL First chill in the air, football, looking forward to the holidays, the first snow. Least favorite - late winter - had enough of the cold already, a feeling like cabin fever.
