Mr. John Baldry dead at 64
This saddens me greatly, but Long John Baldry died in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Thursday, July 22 from respiratory problems. Mr. Baldry , who was known as "Long John Baldry", because he was 6'7" tall, was a seminal figure in British Blues in the 1960's. He helped launch a few stars you may have heard of, The Rolling Stones, Rod Stewart, Elton John, and others. He will be missed. May he rest in peace. For more go to www.johnbaldry.com. There is a "tree" section in there which tracks his connection to many musicians.

2. I guess nobody gives a shit
Think I'll quit posting. Nobody ever answers my shit anyway. But Baldry was a seminal figure, like I said. If anyone reads this, at least give some of his stuff a listen. You may even like it.

He isn't as well known as he should be, but trust me, some of us do give a shit.

4. Sorry. Just haven't been here a lot lately.
I'm glad there was at least some mention made of his passing. And you are correct, he should be more well known. I guess I'm just feeling sorry for myself. Thanks for pointing out the link.

5. With a name like "Bluzmann" it's understandable
I will admit that I only have one of his albums, but i sure knew damn well who he was. The little response to his death is at least typical of a blues master. That's why they do/did what the do/did.
I remember calling a friend and crying when Albert King died. It hardly made the news. Oh well, the blues is so well known and so many people have it, they just don't realize when it's gone.
