Packing for a 2 day trip: would you do it all yourself or would you
leave the packing decisions up to the individual?
Asking as a Mom, Dad, & 9yo Daughter.

1. X list
Leave the check list out in plain sight.

I always over packed, but was always ready and the unexpected never tossed me off track.

You know the spilled juice, upset tummy....adults and kids alike.

2. Let your kid pack her own stuff. 2 bags.
One with clothes, one with entertainment (I suggset the anachronism commonly called "books").

Then, when she's not watching, go and repack all of her stuff with what she REALLY needs.

I'm not syaing that's what works, but it sure works for me. Lets her try out independence but gets the job done as well. There's probably a better way, but, once again, it works for me.

3. I suggest having things put out in plain sight before being packed up
that way Dad doesn't forget his underwear and end up in the same grungy ones all weekend.
