I give you all a little beauty for post # 4000

Love by Pablo Neruda

Because of you, in gardens of blossoming flowers I ache from the
perfumes of spring.
I have forgotten your face, I no longer remember your hands;
how did your lips feel on mine?
Because of you, I love the white statues drowsing in the parks,
the white statues that have neither voice nor sight.
I have forgotten your voice, your happy voice; I have forgotten
your eyes.
Like a flower to its perfume, I am bound to my vague memory of
you. I live with pain that is like a wound; if you touch me, you will
do me irreparable harm.
Your caresses enfold me, like climbing vines on melancholy walls.
I have forgotten your love, yet I seem to glimpse you in every
window.
Because of you, the heady perfumes of summer pain me; because
of you, I again seek out the signs that precipitate desires: shooting
stars, falling objects.

2. Thank you
Neruda is a master. I have one of his books sitting next to me actually. Used it for reference on a poem I wrote last week. Just haven't put it back where it belongs yet. :)

4. the one that I wrote is the one on my blog
I used a little Neruda for some reference on it. For structure etc.

Yeah, in keeping with my luck, another girl I had a think for got married last week. And, not to me, so uh, I just wrote a poem about her. :)

6. it's happened to me a few times
I sort of run headlong into those things. I'm not easy to get to know, and I don't often go for what I want, then I realize I messed up when it's too late.

For me, writing is a way to express those moments with raw emotion. Them aftewards I go in and tinker with it, edit it, but in the end that meaning for me is still there. Poetry is beautiful. It's the highest art form from a literary standpoint. I'm not a poet. I've been published. I'm ok at it. Just isn't my thing. I'm more of a fiction writer and an essayist. But, it is fun to sit down and let it all out. :)

7. I dunno
I used to be able to write to express emotion, but after the incident with good ol' whatsisname, I've felt so empty, I haven't really had much to say.

9. it can suck it out of you
I was distanced from the one I wrote the poem about. Never was hurt by her either. But the one I made the thread about tonight. Writing about her, would be almost impossible to do. So I get what you mean.

11. It's not that it's hard to write about him
it's just hard to write about anything else, and it's better not to think about him at all. I've already written everything I could possibly say on the subject.

Bit contradictory here. About 2 hours ago I decided it would be an all nighter here. Regretting it horribly. Half considering sleeping on the floor of the office for a few hours before church.
