Judas connection to Half-Blood Prince? (*serious spoiler*)

I haven't even read the series, or this book, but my girlfriend was extremely upset when she read that Snape killed Dumbledor. Apparently she now thinks that Dumbledor WANTED Snape to kill him, kind of like a Jesus/Judas thing, with what he said. Something about "Please, Snape...," which she had previously thought was Dumbledor begging for his life...

Does anyone else see this?

And I'm listening to Jesus Christ Superstar again. That's my interest, here.

On edit: That is, Dumbledor wanted Snape to kill him because it was necessary, in the Jungian sense, for Dumbledor to die in order for Harry to fulfill his potential.

2. You know, because when she told me this, I told her of course it was just

necessary in order for Potter to become what he truly can be. Dumbledor had to go. Most people realize that, but now people are beginning to say that Dumbledor knew this, even, and thus actually wanted Snape to do it.

Kind of a Jesus/Judas thing, maybe more three-way...

4. I have the same suspicion.

Maybe not so Harry can reach his potential but so Snape can guarantee Harry's success by solidifying Voldemort's trust in him. I think Snape is going to turn out a hero in the last one as much as we despise him now. It just sucks that we have to wait another 2 friggin years for the conclusion.

5. Make that three years

She's taking some time off to spend with new baby.

For the next book I'm expecting a big surprise on the Snape thing. There's so much in HBP that no one saw coming (well, at least in the corners of fandom I lurk in) that the "Dumbledore was in on his own death" line of inquiry just seems too easy & bound to be wrong.

For what it's worth I don't expect him to truly pick a side until he's absolutely certain who's winning, then it'll be "See?? I was with your side all along!"
