If you were going to watch all 6 of the "Stars Wars" movies,
would you start with "Star Wars" and watch them in the order they were made? Or, would you start with the fourth one and watch them in the order that they took place?

3. Not sure I should admit this -

but I bought the box set of Episodes 4,5 and 6 after seeing Revenge of the Sith and proceeded to watch them. It seemed more fitting to do it that way - the last film transitioned well into Star Wars 4. So I'd recommend watching them in the order they took place.

9. You're not alone ...

Did the same thing, although I didn't actually make the purchase. I actually had an emotional reaction after watching III, which inspired my daughter's choice of a birthday present for me.

11. How interesting.

I know a lot of folks think those movies are silly, but I had a very strong reaction too - I had to buy the box set then sat here three nights in a row and watched them all.

All ties in to my childhood I guess - had the soundtrack when I was a kid and drove my mother nuts playing it over and over.

Nice to know I'm not alone. :hi:

12. It is a childhood thing ...

I mean, this series covers a generation. When I saw the first movie, I was seven years younger than my daughter is now.

Seeing it all end just brought something out.

4. Both ways, I says...
The "older" movies always provide an interesting perspective on the newer ones.

6. The most compelling, and unorthodox, order
Edited on Sun Jul-24-05 10:12 PM by DerekG
IV, V, I, II, III, VI

This way, Vader's true identity remains a surprise, the viewer will be in doubt as to whether he can be redeemed, and Palpatine's plan in VI will actually make some bloody sense when set against his machinations in III.

7. For some reason, I liked 4-6, then 1-3.
After seeing Revenge of the Sith, I had to come home to watch Return of the Jedi. I am not sure why that is the one I really wanted to watch, but it was.

8. I think I'd watch them 1-6
because I prefer the older ones and watching them at the end gives me something to look forward to.

13. The Phantom Menace —> Return of the Jedi
I've already got ROTS (as I'm many here do, heh) so I've already watched 1-6 in order. (it was one slow weekend!)
