I am leaving these polls open until Wednesday morning 9:00 Alaska time, at which time I will post a new poll containing the top 10 for further consideration to determine the final winner.

You have to check in with the photo group periodically and keep track. :) It seems like usually the topic gets decided on in the middle of the month or so, but we were a little off this month because the original host got tombstoned for some unexplained reason. I had to step in and take over since I came in second place last month with the flowers.

I really wanted to do something different and creative, and so the above happened. I was surprised that this pic came out so good. I wanted it to look much cheesier.

We only get to post one pic to the contest, and I entered a more traditional picture.

Just keep in mind that the voting is done by a general populace and not pro photogs. So the voting was probably based on more of an emphasis on what is eye-apppealing as opposed to professional or creative content. You may have a very good photo but the votes go to what "looks nice".

How/where do you post the entries, and how do you know what the month's subject is? I'm somewhere between being an amateur and professional photographer and would like to get in on the action.
This is the first I knew of any photo contest.
