Elvis Costello fans: Obscure question...
On Blood and Chocolate (the CD version), there's a Spanish guitar-driven song called "Big Nothing", which is basically a story about a clockwork cowboy toy. It's Track #17 if you want to get specific.

Is the singer on that track Barry Adamson of the Bad Seeds, or is it someone else?

I say it's Adamson.

1. I'm a big Costello fan
but I have NO earthly idea. This is not one of my favorite albums though.

2. Nor was it mine.... but it's been in constant rotation around here lately
It's really growing on me... it only took, like, eighteen years.

I still don't like his ersatz-Motown production, though.

3. I think this tune was also on the "Straight To Hell" soundtrack...
So, could it be: Shane MacGowan? Pray For Rain? (worked on all the Alex Cox films). Joe Strummer?

Damn fine trivia question. Adamson's a good guess tho...he's right in there with all the above. Check your liner notes, doood...

7. Regardless who's singing it,
...it's become one of our all-time favourite campfire tunes. Ya know, sitting around late at night up in the mountains in the Kootenays, raging drunk and high, grizzlies and mountain goats rustling in the bush: Make up yer own verse, then..."Big Nothing..."
