I heard this none sense on the Glenn Beck show several weeks ago and again on the Laura Ingraham show just last week.

I am assuming they are going after Johnnie Depp for his "anti USA" quote from a few years ago.

1. No, I don't know who started that Wonka = MJ
nonsense. Even Johnny is perplexed by it. He said he was thinking more of Anna Wintour.

They're picking on Wonka for the dandy clothes, the perfect hair and teeth. But they forget, Willy doesn't like kids.

4. It was Roger Ebert...
He made a big point of the comparison in his review.

2. It must be kinda obvious, yet uninended, because both Ebert
and The New Yorker noted the creepy resemblance between WW and MJ.

Okay.

I just thought it was strange how they went after it.

6. You gotta be vigilant...
The righties likely hopped on this bandwagon after reading one or both. You know how incapable they are of original thought.

to say I was reminded of Michael Jackson. Not because of Depp, but b/c of how the character had a love of children. And played all kinds of games with them. Really devoted his life to them. I wondered if maybe he was a Michael Jackson of his time. So I can see the comparison with Willie Wonka. The hair, the light skin, and the eccentricity and creepiness.

Check this out if you want creepy:

8. More like MJ = Willie Wonka
circa Gene Wilder.

Another case of RWnuts rewriting history.

"Willie Wonka" was out in 1971.

9. Oh, please. He was SO doing Carol Channing
Appearance aside, the way Depp spoke reminded me of Carol Channing.
