DOGS ROUNDED UP FOR KILLING AT DISNEY'S HONG KONG PARK
Disneyland personnel have been rounding up stray dogs at the soon-to-open theme park and killing them. The South China Morning Post reported today (Monday) that about 40 dogs, which had been used as "unofficial guard dogs" by construction workers while the park was being built, had been abandoned once the workers left and posed a "safety threat." But animal rights activists in the city have protested that Disney should have made a greater effort to find homes for the dogs. Noting that the dogs were "friendly and healthy," Sally Anderson of Hong Kong Dog Rescue said in a letter to the editor: ""A company like Disney surely has some sort of moral obligation to take care of the dogs that have been used on their site as guard dogs. It's disgraceful that these dogs are simply thrown away like garbage."

12. We were researching allergies, and someone mentioned dog.
and our Vietnamese client asked if that were a food allergy or pet allergy.

What was funny is that when he admitted that he had indeed eaten dog, everyone started giving him grief, and I asked the Swede if she had ever eaten horse, and she reluctantly admitted she had. Then I asked the Vietnamese if he thought non-Asians eating cheese wasn't the most disgusting thing he ever heard of, and he admitted that the idea of fermented/moldy milk was repugnant "and smells like feet". Everyone was shocked! Cheese is NOT gross! How could he think that?!!!

It all depends on your perspective....

6. Not to defend Chairman Mickey
These ones were probably all feral, and not very cuddly and adoptable.
Though there are amazing people (Dog whisperers?) who can transform some pretty scary animals into loving pets.

Somehow I get the feeling that these dogs were like Goofy, but with less jokes, and more rabies.

7. Nah, the article says they were nice & friendly.
They still probably taste pretty good, though.

8. White Furred ones are the best
Edited on Tue Jul-26-05 11:42 AM by Moochy
The white colored ones taste the best, according to a story I was told.
Less gamey, according to my source. Quite sad, but I'm not a dog lubber, so I guess its less than it could be:)

PS and the friendly ones have to be tastier?

9. That's weird... I was told the darker the fur, the better.

I'm a dog lover, too... :)

Didn't mean to imply friendly = more tasty... only that despite their tame, friendly dispositions, they still may have been regarded as more of a food source than a companion animal.

I knew you were not implying that... I was just messin with you :D

Since all the cool kids are revealing sources these days, there was a Brother Bui, who was a catholic brother from Vietnam (I think). He also detailed the best way to cheaply catch them and cook them. Important post Jebbush'08 survival skills I guess ? :scared:

edit 50% less stupid grammar!

11. The U.S. Army did precisely that when the VietNam war ended.
Hundreds of war dogs were declared as surplus property.
