That's what I've finally concluded I am in the Lounge.

I can't recall the last time anyone responded to any of my posts in the Lounge. Strangely, I've been getting all kinds of replies to posts I have recently been putting up in LBN, GD, and GD Politics, and I have no idea who those people are.

I don't blame anyone but myself. I just am what I am, including being someone who just doesn't get half of the things people say here - it's either some young generation language I'm not familiar with, some internet jargon I'm not familiar with, or some secret-code-like chatter among a significantly sized group of intimates here, or a combination of some or all of the above - but I'm just too old and out of it to even want to try to decipher it any more or ask for help from anyone.

I don't have this problem in the other DU sites, so I've been posting less and reading more - mainly LBN to keep up with world events.

I'm not saying good-bye exactly - I'm sure I'll make future attempts to see what's going on here even if I don't "get it", and may even post here and there. But I'll be here a lot less often. I know I've pissed some people off here while posting in a bad mood, so I'm sure some of you will breathe a sigh of relief, but I suspect the vast majority won't even notice.

It has been fun at times.

4. I've seen your posts in GD and I've liked them.

I've responded to some of them, though I haven't checked GD out in a while. The "frenziedness" of the Lounge seems different on different days. I just take a little break when things get too theatrical for my sensibilities. ;-)

BTW, thanks to all who posted the above kind words.

And please understand, I'm not feeling bad about anything, and I'm not looking for attention or sympathy, I'm just trying to let people know where they might find me if they don't see me in the Lounge much, because I've simply decided, for personal reasons, to move on for a while.
