1. She's hanging in there
I just talked to the vet; she has a bad case of Coccidia. At first they thought it was a reaction to antibiotics because it hit her very hard and so quickly, but it turns out to be a parasite. They still think that she has a chance, so hopefully I'll get some good news tomorrow.

Thanks for the good thoughts/ wishes!

2. Awesome - we're still rooting for her.
I read yesterdays post - she reminds me of our cat - extremely easy going.

out thoughts are with you.

6. It's a parasite passed on from the mother
Edited on Wed Jul-27-05 04:04 PM by China_cat
through the milk...usually gotten from eating infected rodents. Symptoms don't usually show until they are older.

It causes severe diarrhea, dehydration and death if not treated early and aggressively and supported with vigilant nursing care. We had a litter of kittens here almost 15 years ago that had it. Only 1 survived. They were 7 weeks old at the time.

It was truly horrible.

4. I've put the other little ones on Albon
they aren't showing any signs of illness so far, thank goodness! This sets back their spay date, but they are only ten weeks old, so I don't think that's a bad thing.

Thanks so much for the positive energy! :loveya:
