Lance Armstrong's Politics.

In an interview with the New York Times, teammate George Hincapie hinted at Armstrong possibly running for Governor of Texas after retiring from cycling. In the July 2005 issue of Outside magazine <5>, Armstrong himself hinted at possibly running for Governor, although "not in '06." By Texas political standards, he would almost certainly run as a Democrat, as he has described himself in the past as being "middle to left," "against mixing up State and Church," "not keen on guns," opposed to the Iraq War, and pro-choice. U.S. Senator John Kerry, interviewed on OLN at the 2005 Tour de France, indicated Armstrong has the potential to be successful in politics. "I think he'd be awesome, he'd be a force. I just hope it's for the right party," Kerry said on OLN. President George W. Bush, a Republican and fellow Texan, also considers Armstrong to be a close friend. President Bush called Armstrong in France after his 2005 victory to congratulate him.

Armstrong was quoted by The Times in 2004 about his views on Iraq: "I don't like what the war has done to our country, to our economy. My kids will be paying for this war for some time to come. George Bush is a friend of mine and just as I say it to you, I'd say to him, 'Mr President, I'm not sure this war was such a good idea', and the good thing about him is he could take that."

among the best the article can do in support of his self-described affiliation is point out that Keith is "good friends" with a Democrat. I'll remember that the next time a person says "One of my best friends is black" as proof they can't be racist... Needless to say, I'm not honored.

If it is a picture on a website, just right click the picture, hit properties, then cut and paste the location into your post(I use Firefox, I don't know if IE would be different). Not all of them will be allowed. If you want to post a picture that is on your hard drive, then you need an online photo storage account. You can get free ones at www.imageshack.com or www.photobucket.com

And a lot of the CSPAN callers are.

The only purpose of him calling himself a Democrat is so that he can say things like:

"I'm a Democrat, and I support George W. Bush for President!" (see, Bush is such a great leader that even Democrats support him!)

"I'm a Democrat and I'm ashamed of the Democrat Party for not supporting our troops." (see, the Democratic party is splintering and they don't support the troops)

"As a Democrat, I hate to see my party support terrorism and give comfort to our enemies like it does." (see, a Democrat is admitting that Democrats are un-American)

It's a stupid ploy and it's tired and it's overused.

I could just as easily call in to Washington Journal and say, "I'm a Republican and I support biting the heads off of infants while anally raping your grandmother!"

How could anyone who is informed even consider supporting a potential politico who claims to be friends with a giggling murder who moves our county toward a total police state every day? One who lies to us continually, is responsible for 100s of thousands of deaths, and thinks torturing people (including children) is just A-OK?

I'm dissapointed in people who would be willing to accept that from Lance Armstrong or anyone cuz it's just politics.

Well that statement says a lot. I'm just not sure exactly what.

It could say "I'm clueless about what kind of man George Bush actually is, because I think he'd suffer any criticism".

Or it could say "I'm going nowhere in Texas politics disrespecting the shrub".

I'm not sure what I think about Mr. Armstrong. But it's hard to imagine him being worse than the last two bozos we've had for governors.
