DU road cyclists - a question for Mr. Writer's benefit

Is it better to buy 20 cheap tubes or a few nicer tubes?

1. good tubes.

they're not that much more. i burst a cheap one just jumping off a curb. i also have specialzed kevlar tires.

3. Depends.

Most tubes are design by people who want the lightest weight possible, thus the difference between blowouts is not that great.

My personal experience is to make sure the TIRE is good (I have punctured an Inter-tube by running it on a worn out tire) and than put a liner in the tire for most tires do NOT have enough rubber on their road surface to really prevent a flat. Also keep the tube to the highest Inflation level it is designed for, the higher the inflation the less chance of a flat.

I found the above is a better solution to prevent flat tires than buying an inner-tube with more rubber on the outside.
