Norfolk named as paranormal hotspot

TARA GREAVES

26 July 2005 08:00

Tales of ghostly apparitions, mysterious UFO sightings and bizarre lights in the sky have long been a part of Norfolk's rich and colourful history but now, it seems, the county can add its own Bermuda Triangle to the list.

According to a league table of paranormal, supernatural and mythical phenomena, Norfolk is ranked third in Britain with an area of 234 square miles featuring nearly twice as many incidents as most other places.

The Rev Lionel Fanthorpe, who has travelled the world investigating mysteries, compiled the table from documents he has collected for more than 30 years for Sky Travel.

"I think the famous old Norfolk saying 'we do different' is true," said Mr Fanthorpe, who was born in Dereham and worked as a journalist in Cromer.

1. For a minute I thought you meant Norfolk, Virginia
But with all the military there it would be more dangerous than funny to have paranormal stuff.

3. Me too. I live 4 miles south of Norfolk and the only paranormal
activity I've seen around here is the downright spooky way people drive.

2. isn't it funny that most of the ghosts from there
just happen to be from the 17th and 18th century. AS IF there weren't ghosts from before then. What did they all get deleted? Faded away?

You would think that local farmers, saxons, druids, pre-historical villages, romans, and a bunch of hairy cavemen would put in an occasional appearance, but Noooooo! Just people wearing fancy frilly lace and stuff. :eyes:

4. Ghosts always walk around at night, in the attic, and are invisible
that's like why you can't see them. 'Cause if they walked around during the day, in the living room, and you could see them, they would be like just people or something.
