XM + Napster

Sheesh, XM sure does get around these days—late yesterday the announced a partnership with Napster, called XM + Napster as it were (note the dominant and submissive in this relationship), to provide integrated music purchasing with their satellite radio service. Which basically means starting in the fourth quarter this year, you’ll be able to bookmark tracks you hear on XM with forthcoming player devices, and automatically pick ‘em up on Napster when you get home. So between XM and Samsung getting jiggy with the hardware, and XM and Napster getting jiggy on the content, Sirius and Apple must really be kicking dirt right now.

2. This is interesting...
When I first saw Satellite Radio Hardware promoted it had
many more functions on it than what appeared in the unit
I ultimately ended up with.

Now those features are trickling out... Slowly and
expensively.

I remember reading about a Recorder function and a Search
function.

I've now seen the Recorder function released in the "MyFi".

There's also the IR port on the front of the "Roady"... Has
anyone seen the remote for that port yet?

3. So once again, capitalism raises it's hoary head.....
It's a good thing, shows the marker for satellite radio is going to whose right on by earth based broadcasting and two things will then likely happen...

Clear Channel will implode and sell of radio stations....

And that means more local owner ship of stations back here on earth....
