Guilty, thought that before.
Hahahahahahahaha I made $14,000 a year when I was an FA. You get paid from door closure to door opening on the airplane and NOTHING ELSE! No terminal walking, people interrupting you when you're on your precious breaks (few and far between), no boarding, deplaning... Not getting a penny. I worked 14 hours a day. I had 8 hours after leaving the airplane to being on it again (not including showering, sleeping, eatting, unwinding, etc.). I got yelled at for everything from security to the size of the plane. Couldn't help any of it. I would have 2 days off after a four day trip and then have to do it all over again. At any given point, your company can tell you you have to stay and do an extra flight, or even an extra overnight. Nothing mattered as long as you had a 24 hour time off span in 7 days. Food breaks? Yeah, got one 45 minute a day... Remember, I worked for 14 hours a day and meals, as we all know, are not served on the plane. I ate pretzels or nuts for most of my meals. Healthy. You can't really bring food with you b/c you have so much other crap to bring and by day 5 hour 12 of my trip with about 5 hours of sleep the last 4 nights, ask me how much I cared about getting passenger X his pillow or cleaning the plane. I didn't.
Needless to say I am no longer an FA, but give them a break. They work their asses off and don't get any credit.
