Why do baseball fans purposely sing the wrong words
to "Take Me Out to the Ball Game"?

I mean, the freaking WORDS are right there for all to see and sing along to. It's "take me out WITH the crowd", not "TO the crowd", and it's crackerJACK, not crackerJACKS. Yet almost everyone I heard at the game last night sang the wrong words. Are they doing this to annoy me? Are they doing this because they are stupid? (my theory), or do they really think those are the words?

8. No, we are NOT alike because she doesn't like baseball
Ha ha ha.

Did she ever tell you about the time we discovered she did a Christmas newsletter that none of us had ever seen (we found this out because she brought all her Christmas cards home to our parents' and people kept referring to her newsletter in the cards.) I said, "but don't you want us to pick it apart for every tiny little grammatical error and disagree with your version of events?" and she said, "No!"

7. Does, 'root, root, root for the Cubbies' count as singing the wrong words?
I DON'T THINK SO!

I'm with the person above who can't sing after 10 beers. Personally, my singing ability hits the skids after 3, but I'm a lightweight.

Go Cubs!

10. It's root, root, root for the TIGERS
and I personally believe that I sing better after ten beers. I'm not sure everyone else thinks the same, but after ten beers, what do I care what they think?

12. You say that, BUT......
my cousin and I were watching the movie about Hank Greenberg a few years ago and when they showed them playing in the World Series against the Cubs and we both laughed later because we knew the outcome before they even rolled that part of the film.

And don't forget, the whole goat curse started during that series! Ya haven't had any luck since!
