Criss Angel: Mindfreak
I just saw the season premiere.

Oh. My. God.

That final twist was amazing! Anybody else watching this show? It's on A&E. He's a magician.

1. I watched one episode with him in Vegas.
The part I saw was him levitating a woman off the sidewalk. I wish I knew how he does that. Freaky.

3. I just started that one
the one I just saw has him being set on fire (not a big deal, really - he's wearing safety gear), but it goes for 45 seconds, and he finally falls down, a group of people with fire extinguishers put him out, and as the cloud disappears (only a couple seconds), an empty suit of clothes is lying there, and he removes a hood to show that HE is one of the fire-extinguisher guys. Amazing.

Earlier, he takes a ring from a woman, puts it on the table, lays his hand on it (at which point he probably pocketed the ring), and had the two women put their hands on top of his. Then the ring is gone. Big whoop.

Then he takes a glass of ice water on the table, and pulls out an ice cube. Fully embedded in the ice cube is the ring.

2. Something just doesn't seem 'right' about him...
I know its supposed to be magic, but his 'tricks' surpass any 'magic'.

4. he's really really good
very imaginative. I don't pretend to have any idea how he does his stuff, but damn, he does it well.

5. Funny camera angles are suspicious.
You're never sure if the people with him are really strangers or "in on it." I miss Copperfield, because at least he was in front of an audience.

Plus, too many people react with swearing - I'd say that most people wouldn't do that when they're on camera. Just makes me suspicious.

But he's a great showman, I'll give him that. And I do watch the show. Magic is more amazing when you realize it's ALL tricks - if magic were real, it wouldn't be nearly as cool.
