I just received this email, and before being an idiot and following the directions, I searched and found an exact copy of the email (here:
http://www.millersmiles.co.uk/report/811), explaining that the link is a SPOOF link. It looks IDENTICAL to the Amazon.com sign-on page. If you enter your user-id and password there, you will be giving a crook your account.
Seriously, I am VERY aware of this kind of crap, and I nearly was fooled when I clicked on the link. Instead I signed on to Amazon from another computer, and found that there were NO current transactions on my account. I also removed my credit cards from the account.
Here is the letter I received from payments-messages@amazon.com:
(edited to say that when I clicked the link from my email, it went to a sign on page and the URL changed to another with my email address appended, when I click it from here it goes to an error page at Amazon.)
