Apparently, there's a dead guy with my name and only

one digit different in his social security number from mine.....

He ran up quite a bill with some cell phone companies, one of which I used as my carrier ages ago. I was all paid up.

And then, out of the blue, they call the house and wonder why I have been ignoring their repeated requests for payment....

This goes on and on for about an hour and then the gal tells me my sister has been talking to them...

So, to make a long story short, she asks who I am. I tell her. She asks Jr. with that question lilt at the end of her query. I said nope, I'm the only one. No Jr. no Sr. Just me....

Silence.....

She asks if the last three digits of my SS are XXXX. I say yes..

So I ask, what SS number are you inquiring about? She tells me. And I say you are one number off....

Silence.....

She replies, that's good. Cause if it wasn't, I'd be talking to a dead man.....
