Is the heat slowing down you cable internet connection.
Maybe its just a Cox Communication thing. My connection, my son's, my neighbor's, a friend a couple of blocks away and my girlfriend across town all have cable internet that has been so damn slow since the heat hit about a week ago.
I called Cox and they told me that its just my computer. I told them that me son's computer is also slow via router as is my neighbor's...... Are all our systems messed up?
I think that Cox just refuses to admit that their servers suck.

1. Cable modems speed
depend on how many people are in the pipeline. The more people in the pipeline the slower the speed. DSL is not like that. But back to the subject at hand, I don't see how the heat would affect your speed.

2. It began when the heat hit.
And I am not alone with this problem.

4. With cable modem you share bandwidth with others on your grid
In summer, more people stay indoors and use their internet connections at the same time.

This eats up available bandwidth.

So while you will see a corresponding slowdown in speed during heatwaves, they aren't caused by the heat, but by people spending more time inside at their computers than outside in the heat.

3. Summer Vacation is slowing down your connection.
More users = less bandwidth per user.
