Dear Mr. *****,
I would like to thank you for the time that you set aside on interview on Thursday afternoon to discuss the possibility of me joining the team at **********. for the position of (insert position here) at (insert company name here).
I am very enthusiastic about the idea of working at **********. I feel as if believe the position would be is a perfect fit for everyone involved (Rabrrrrrr note - that doesn't make sense - how can one position fit "everyone"?). I am a people person, meticulous about details, and I like to approach each and every day as if new and wonderful adventures are just waiting to be explored and embraced. I enjoy and embrace challenges and this sounds like the perfect place for me to work. (Rabrrrrrr note - if it were me, I'd toss your resume out for those last two sentences unless I were REALLY VERY VERY impressed with you in the interview) I very much enjoyed discussing the position with you. I know that I would be an asset to your team. I very much hope that you feel the same way. (here is a good place to summarize some of the interview that happened: restating something that you think you might have given a less than excellent answer to, or just making a few points of what was talked about to tell the interviewer that you were paying attention, remember things, and also to jar his memory of the interview).
I appreciate the time and consideration that you have given gave me is very, very much appreciated. I can be reached at ***-***-**** or by email at *****@*******.net should you need any additional information or references.
Sincerely,
Business people don't use words like "very" or "a lot" or "from the depths of my heart" etc. Don't write like a teenager.
