I'm catsitting.
My friend went away for the weekend and my job duty is to get the mail, watch the house and care for the cat.

I'm not a huge cat person, I do think they are interesting creatures, but I have catsit in the past so I don't mind. I even play with her and comb her fur!

One thing I didn't realize---This cat eats ALOT!
I was instructed to feed her twice a day---once in the morning and once at night.

I was told to put food (from a box, dry pellets shaped like fish, etc..) in a bowl and then give her a wet food package at night.

Everytime I go her bowls are always empty!
She's a fat cat, btw, but didn't know cats ate that much!

Figure it was time for me to jump on the cat thread bandwagon!
:hi:

5. Oooh, have fun :)
I love cats! I had to leave a pretty kitty behind to come up here, I miss her tons. We'd get a cat but since we live in an apt, there is no place to keep a litter box that wouldn't stink up the entire apt. the man says. I reluctantly agreed. :)

6. I think the man is wrong.
Same friend had her cat with her the entire time she lived in her apartment. She kept the litter box in the corner of her living room, the furthest corner from the door. She had a table by the box and just kept candles lit. Actually, it didn't really smell alot.

Shock! Gasp, even. :)

I agree, but there is no talking him into it, especially now that we have a puppy. :7

I merely agreed with him because I knew I wasn't going to win.

22. We live in a pretty small apt
but, we have an extra bedroom that isn't used for anything that a litter box could be kept in.

But, alas- the man is the money maker, and my hands are full with puppy. :D

Someday we will get one. >.<

7. She's gaming you.
May be that she's eating more because she doesn't like to be left with sitters.

But, if you're cool with her, spend a little time, then she's just seeing how much you'll fork over.

Cats don't eat that much usually unless they have worms or unless they're playing you.

Have a great time. :)

31. My friend, that little lady has your number.
Edited on Thu Jul-28-05 07:17 PM by sfexpat2000
Oh, she KNOWS you want to make nice. She KNOWS she has the upper hand.

But, seriously, if you feed her per instructions, and play dumb, she'll move on to some other scam AND she'll live longer.

We just THINK we're taking care of them. They know they're just humoring us.

:)

18. I think cats are a lot smarter
than some people give them credit for. A few years back, I would just sit and watch the cat move about the house, sniff things, scratch things. Of course, I was stoned out of my mind at that point so maybe that's why I thought it was interesting.:hi:
