2. Did you mean the Hudu Gurus?
Odd seeing them on that list. New ORder, Echo, The Cure all were always closely alligned. The Tubes had their hit and a few good songs other than that one. And Hudu Gurus were good but kind of a minor, minor, MINOR footnote in alternative rock.

3. Best?
I'm gonna have to say Killing Joke above all else.

XTC.

Also Joy Division, New Order up to about the Lowlife LP, Echo and the Bunnymen, Psychic TV before they went all technodisco, Gang of Four, and Coil.

16. Wall of Voodoo
The Tubes were a band with an incredibly loyal following. They had great album production and they out-rocked their contemporaries (such as AC/DC, etc.) The Tubes broke out nicely on early MTV with "She's a Beauty" and "Talk to ya' Later".

I don't see them as "Alternative" though.

23. A lot of great bands!!!! :-)
Now there's one thing I miss about the 80's... the music. Especially the alternative stuff. What was great about it was that the masses h-a-t-e-d it! Then Nirvana went and ruined everything. :evilfrown:
