Do dogs have a sense of time?
The last few nights my puppy has sat in front of the door and whined several minutes before the man gets home from work. So I was just wondering, do dogs have a sense of time?

1. Absolutely.
One of my dogs goes to bed between 10:30 and 11PM, whether I'm in the room or not.

2. Our dog is an accurate alarm clock
He seems to know to the minute when we get up for his morning walk.

3. Routines, not time
If it happens to be around the same time you've done what you choose to do in walking in, bodily functions outside, they learn those routines. My kitties know to go to bed at a certain time, but only because I've done with them a hundred times or more.

4. That makes sense.
She also starts licking my face minutes before the alarm goes off in the morning. :)

8. our dogs know when its time to get up and go outside,
and when its time for their dinner. I don't know if its really clock-related, or more that they are used to going out after a certain time, and their tummies are hungry at the same time every day. In any case, they 'talk' to me, and tell me I'm late, if I don't deliver...
