Fave movie badguys?
Didn't wanna kill him but Dennis Hopper as Frank Booth in Blue velvet is my favorite "Villian"

Blue Velvet is creepy as shit....The character of Frank was to breathe helium at various intervals in Lynch's original script, but Dennis Hopper suggested this be changed to Amyl Nitrate which he knew was used to enhance sexual experiences.

Dorothy: What do you want to do?
Jeffrey: I'll do anything.
Dorothy: Are you a bad boy?
Jeffrey: What do you mean?
Dorothy (dreamily): Do you want to do bad things? Anything? Anything?
Jeffrey (whispering): What do you want?
Dorothy (begging): I want you to hurt me.
Jeffrey: No, I don't want to hurt you. I told you I want to help you. Dorothy, I know some of what's happening. Frank has your husband and son doesn't he? You've got to do something. Go to the police.
Dorothy: (Startled, she sits up and pushes herself away.) No police!! No police!! (The visual motif of the flame appears, as she cowers before him.) Go on, hit me. Hit me!

A candy colored clown they call the Sandman
Tiptoes to my room every night
Just to sprinkle stardust and to whisper
Go to sleep everything is all right.
I close my eyes. Then I drift away.
Into the magic night. I softly say
A silent prayer. Like dreams do.
Then I fall asleep
To dream my dreams of you.
In dreams, I walk with you.
In dreams, I talk to you.
In dreams, you're mine, all the time.
We're together...

In dreams, I'd walk with you.
In dreams, I'd talk to you.
In dreams, you're mine. All...forever in dreams.

Edited on Fri Jul-29-05 12:21 AM by Nevernose
He's more of an anti-hero than a villain in that movie than a villain, but still.

Oh, and "Bram Stoker's Dracula" sucked. Oldman was the only thing passable, and the only thing that Stoker lent was his name.

Ahh. Food. Let me guess... Is it Chineese? Tai, maybe? Ahh, I've got it. Italian food

Stansfield: Now, I want you to tell me everything you know about Italian food, including the name of the chef who prepared it.
Mathilda: Nobody sent me. I work for myself.
Stansfield: Ahh... so this is... personal?... What filthy peice of... shit... did I do now?
Mathilda: You killed my brother.
Stansfield: I'm sorry. And you want to join him?
Mathilda: No.
Stansfield: It's always the same thing. It's when you start to become really afraid of death that you learn to appreciate life. Do you like life, sweetheart?
Mathilda: Yes.
Stansfield: That's good, because I take no pleasure in taking life if it's from a person who doesn't care about it.

10. Christoper Lee in The Wicker Man
An attractive, likeable villain with a clear motivation, which is of course a refreshing change from the usual 2D bad guy. That he was sexy was a nice bonus. :)

Even at the movie's horrifying ending (if you haven't seen it I won't give it away) he's still in many ways a more likable charachter than Officer Howie, the movie's protagonist.

29. I actually sympathized with Howie
I saw Summerisle as something of a charlatan (as suggested in the first conversation he had with Howie regarding the former's lineage); Howie, for all his austerity, was genuinely concerned for the missing girl.

How wonderful it would be if the harvest didn't return the next year...

24. and he's shown doing good deeds, to further complicate the issue
He rescues the little girl who is drowning, and is apparently a kind and loving father/husband.

The fact that he was given a multidimentional character is so brilliant and uncommon. Every other "villain" in the movies seems to have his switch stuck on "evil". They're one step away from Snidley Whiplash"

48. Don't forget Edward G. Robinson in Key Largo.
Robinson is often associated with the tough-guy roles he played, but his career had greater breadth than that. He also played straight arrows, nerds, good-hearted farmers, and the like during his career.

But in Key Largo, his character, a gangster, is the definition of odious. I won't catalogue his sins here -- it's better that you see the movie -- but among the milder ones is sexual harassment of a young widow.

No matter how gentle of spirit you are, you will crave an appropriate comeuppance for this particular gangster.
