The Rolling stones are the best band to listen to when drunk
Edited on Fri Jul-29-05 01:11 AM by HEyHEY
I was at a party earlier and so I have a buzz. I just had "2000 man" on and it's totally rocking...
The stones are the best when drunk.

1. Have you heard the new single "Rough Justice" yet?
Look for it. It's like Sticky Fingers meets Some Girls. Very much a Classic Stones vibe.

7. the New Stones are out to gett you
Not in an Oswald sort of way, but in a "we're gonna return to our 1960s blues roots album" and then have the blues as much as my dead poodle does. Which isn't much.

I, personally, am avoiding the new stuff, and am illegally downloading vintage RS videos. I like the one with Keith Richards, John Lennon, and Hendrix's backup band performing The Beatles' "Yer Blues."

9. You can buy that one on DVD now.
It's from the Rolling Stones Rock N Roll Circus. It contains performances from The Who and a very young Jethro Tull featuring none other than Tony Iommi on lead guitar (his only live appearance with that band). And of course the previously mentioned Lennon supergroup "The Dirty Mac". You left out the part that their lead guitarist was Eric Clapton though. Just happenned to be right around the time that both Cream and the Jimi Hendrix Experience had split up, so Eric and drummer Mitch Mitchell both had plenty of free time.

And of course a set from the Stones themselves, heavy on the Beggars Baanquet material, along with the debut of "You Can't Always Get What You Want" heard here with Brian Jones playing the guitar intro (it would turn out to be his last performance with the band :( )

4. Especially the 69-74 Stones
Mick Taylor should have never quit the band, and they should have hired Nils Lofgren after he did..
