Freaky-ass dream last night.
Dreamed I lived in an apartment with a roommate. Small apartment; we had to share a bed. I'd gone to bed early and was asleep with a book on my chest (SOP for me). When she climbed into bed, she started babbling, which woke me but I tried to pretend I was asleep.

I heard a woman scream in the alley and bolted upright. I asked the roommate "did you hear that?!" and she said "Yes but don't go out there, someone else will help her." I put on jeans and grabbed my cell phone. I called 911 as I ran down.

In the alley I saw four men dragging a woman to a van. I was talking to 911, giving them the van's make, the tag number, the guys' descriptions. I was excited and yelling. The biggest guy looked at one of his mates and threw his chin my way, as in "take care of that." The designated meddler-rubber-outer walked toward me very confidently. I was yelling into my phone, and he reached for it --

but what he wound up grabbing was a big 1970s-style receptionist desk phone that was sitting on a table that wasn't there. He ripped it out of the wall. I kept yelling, describing the scene to 911. The woman was still screaming until the big guy clocked her with something and she was out cold. They kept dragging her, I kept yelling into my phone, and the guy was slowly wrapping the cords around the receptionist phone.

Finally he got to where he was ready to kill me. He raised the handset to bash my brains out, and I raised my arm to stop him -- still yelling to 911 -- and woke myself up by knocking over the lamp.

It is the strangest dream I've ever had, and the first in which I was almost murdered.

Know of any dream interpretation sites?

Have you had any freaky dreams recently?

1. I sometimes have this recurring dream that I've had since childhood.
I used to have it a few times a week. Now it's only a few times a year.

I'm five (the age when the dream started) and I'm sitting with my mom on the couch in the living room. All of a sudden there is a small earthquake and what sounds like an explosion in the back yard. I run to the back porch and see a volcano rising out of the lake behind our back yard. There is lava coming toward the house.

I run back to my mom and tell her that lava is coming toward the house and we should run. She just says 'Wait just a moment, honey.' So I run back to the back porch and the lava is a lot closer, just 20 feet away or so. I run back to my mom, and again she tells me to wait. It goes back and forth like this until the lava hits the house and sets it on fire, then I wake up.
