Poll question: Is your favorite team in a pro sport one that's not a local team?

Remember that the sport must have a local team for you to answer the question. Out of the pro-teams, I root for all Philly teams. It's in college football that I root for Penn State.

By local, say generally in your part of the state - or if you live overseas, country.

1. My favorite baseball team is the Cardinals.

East St. Louis is my dad's hometown, but I live nowhere near St. Louis.

4. Howdy mvd.

There are a lot of Cardinals fans all across the midwest because of the strength of KMOX, the radio station in St. Louis. They broadcast over a huge amount of the country, especially at night. Lots of people grew up with Harry Caray and Jack Buck on Cardinals games.

PA seems a long way though, and they had the Phillies and Pirates. :)

6. Yep - it's just one of those things

My uncle's mom also liked the Cardinals. My grandmother watched the Yankees on WPIX, and she became a Yankees fan.

Grew up in suburban MD. I am a die hard Redskins fan. Hopefully, this year will be different!

I used to be a Redskins fan, as I lived in MD for my first 14 years. I guess I started rooting for the Philly teams in my more formative years.

8. I moved to FL when I was 8

And I LOVED it when the skins beat the Dolphins in that 83 superbowl! My family has had several generations of Redskin fans.

I root for Tampa when they aren't playing the Redskins.
