Warner Bros. studios. It was the gorgeous lobby of a modern cruise ship built completely upside down with a big water tank in the floor. It looked amazing.

Wonder if the new version will be as campy as the original.

39. One Day Soon
...we'll be asking each other things like:

"So...which version of _______ did you like best? 1975, 1992, the 2003 one, one of the last five versions?"

"Last five? Goddammit, it's only 2006!!"

(And regardless of how many fail at the box office--or, in the case of the Hallmark TV Poseidon Adventure, fail in the ratings (C'mon, it's Guttenberg)--they'll just keep coming, because every so often, one will strike big gold. I'm betting this year that's King Kong.)

26. Twice! Remaking It TWICE!
Edited on Fri Jul-29-05 07:32 PM by Bark Bark Bark
Without warning, the title of the big-screen remake by Wolfgang ("The Perfect Storm," "Air Force One") Petersen has been changed to simply "Poseidon."

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0409182/

Sadly, although the Petersen version keeps the giant wave, I don't see any of the original characters' names in the credit listings--and while the Hallmark/Guttenberg TV-mini version has a couple of the names, those characters have been pathetically altered (the hooker-marrying cop played by Ernest Borgnine in the original is now a counterterrorism expert traveling with his daughter, and is played by a Baldwin Brother).

For convenience, here's the link to the Hallmark/Guttenberg version again:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0419358/

And BONUS! Watch the Hallmark/Guttenberg version's trailer! Ewwww!

http://www.hallmarkent.com/property.php?propertyId=PoseidonAdventur

To quote another awful movie's tagline: "Whoever wins...we lose."

So...remake of "The Swarm," anyone?
