I held hands with my kids on a walk, then we lay on the grass and watched
the clouds drift by overhead, changing color as the sun dipped below the horizon. We saw a dragon-dinosaur (I still say it was a rhino) and one cloud that looked oddly like a bookcase.

Did you do anything blissfully wonderful today? :)

I am more of a database/business analysis geek. There are TONS of great web folks on DU.

Your day sounds perfectly wonderful. I am enjoying some well-deserved alone time... and nursing a summer cold.

2. Sounds like a great day
I took my daily walk at the county park near my home. Said hello to my favorite Redwood tree. Saw several ducks, many lizards and a beautiful black snake with a yellow stripe down its back. There was a nice breeze blowing and the air smelled very fresh.

15. Freisians are beautiful
But then all horses are beautiful. I haven't had my own horse for a few years now (though I'm sometimes able to ride a friend's - it's not the same) so sometimes I pull out my saddle and smell it. If I work hard, I can just catch a whiff of horse sweat. ~sigh~

It is true; only horse people love the smell of hay, leather, and horse sweat. I still get weak in the knees whenever I walk into a barn!

12. I try to. Well.. I kiss them and hug them throughout the day but I am
generally focused on other stuff. (Like DU) But then the end of the day comes and I panic that I didn't enjoy them enough, and then we get all snuggly and play or read. It's a nice way to end the day, though I could do without that panicky feeling. :)

45. There is always someone who needs you. When I first had my kids
there was a parenting network from some county organization that offered to send people over to help me with the kids now and then. I didn't need to take them up on it because I had a good support network, but there are so many moms out there that don't have one.

25. I told my ex-auto insurance co. what they could do with their surcharges
Edited on Fri Jul-29-05 09:43 PM by rocknation
symbolically speaking.

I put my renewal policy papers in the office recycling bin because they deserve a chance to come back as something more useful. The page that contained my new premium got burned and flushed down the toilet, however--that's what you're SUPPOSED to do with excrement.

My new policy actually costs a little more than the renewal would have. But the coverage is much better, I didn't have to pull an extra $600 out of thin air, and none of the money is going to "surcharges." I've got your surcharges RIGHT HERE!

31. Not mint juleps, too early in the day. But a true southern lady who has
been a great friend invited my daughter for a sleepover. Now you must know that I am from the Midwest & it just takes a while to feel the southern rhythym & get to know one another.
BUT, that is not the experience to which I am referring--I was driving home and what should come on the radio but the song 'Uneasy Rider" which I hadn't heard since my parents bought me the 8-track by the Sound Effects circa 1976.

I was enjoying the audio trip back in time when I realised I had to stop for gas. It was prepay & I missed it by a penny & 'cuz it's the honor system, I go back & pay my penny. The clerk was surprised & then when I walked toward the door, A genuine, long-haired hippie
held the door open and gave me the most beaming sunny smile & all was right in my world.
