Poll question: In 1973, which color was more popular for clothing?

I'll explain later, but it is a serious question and I've been known for asking questions that others don't always think are serious. But thy are serious questions, mostly because I'm a wet ponce. O8)

I am restoring a pic of mum from 1973. Wow, she looks just like Joanne Linville from Star Trek's "The Enterprise Incident" (sans the Romulan uniform, thank goodness, though her lime-green get-up probnably as a miniskirt somewhere (she's sitting down)). I'm down to the color scheme and removing some odd orange splatters on the bottom part of the pic... then printing at 8x10"...

The photo, 32 years old, had faded considerably, of course, and doing two forms of manual restoration came up with identical skin tones; but one was teal and the other lime.

As this is a surprise for mum, I didn't want to call her and say "Hiya mum! I'm doing this little surprise for you, so what did you wear that day in 1973 when...?" :D

The picture's primary colors themselves are lime green, orange, brown, tan, and white. In fact, it's so sadly devoid of blues or purples I could cry. :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry: There, I just did.

2. I remember burnt orange

and hot pink more than lime green, but no teal at that time.

5. I owned a purple

polyester pantsuit. Also assorted "granny" dresses in browns and oranges. There was no shortage of tacky in the 70's.

And there was a color called mushroom. People had dresses, sweaters and slacks that were that mushroom color. It was an odd sort of beige.

Wearin' those plaid polyester bell bottoms and the 2" wide belt with double holes and prongs.

The collar on my skin tight polyester pastel shirt was so long I'd almost get airborne in a good wind.

15. Lime green??? I don't seem to remember that. The earthtones

and orange were very big. Also teal was a popular color. Lime green...NOT! That was some left over stuff from the sixties maybe. :shrug:

The '70s were all earth colors. Avocado green was big in the '70s, but not lime.
