Poll question: Best decade for Rock & Roll
I am not talking about Journey or any other radio music. What's been the best decade so far for R&R?

4. You seem to have a pretty narrow view of "rock n' roll"
Do you count The Beatles as rock? Or Bob Dylan? I'd have to say '60s, but you didn't even mention anything from that.

I'd say 80s were worst for rock, although mid-70s got pretty bogged down too. Early through mid-90s (right around 1997) was great for rock as well.

The blanks are of finite length. And Dylna is there in the 60's along with The Band. Edit: Also unmentioned are the Stray Cats, Blasters, Robert Gordon, Junior Brown, and a host of others. Interpret rock as you like. But please don't include Rod Stewart.

6. Um, no
There's a California rocker, still going, called John Stewart, who made some of America's finest rock in the 70's.

10. Geez,
I live in California and did a LOT of rocking in the '70s. Never heard of him. What are some of his songs? Maybe I would recognize the titles. Then again, it was the 70s, who knows WTF I listened to...

11. Maybe people would recall John better from his folk days?
Bombs Away Dream Babies was kind of an anomaly and 'Bloodlines was much folkier. If he had any other rock records of note I don't recall 'em but he's been a folk staple since the 60's.

7. Man Rock - n - Roll is about the here and now.....
That old stuff is great, but don't get stuck down to anyone time....

You'll end up old and safely ensconced in the bosom of suburbia, dreaming of teen angel when The Jets and the Killers are rockin out.....

Keep it fresh.....
