DUers' Alcohol Abuse Acceptance Group.
I think we need a place where drunk DUers can proudly embrace the alcoholic lifestyle. Besides, we need to keep a drunk tank so some of these people stay out of the lounge

5. it's all in the mind ... if the *drunk* is happy being drunk then
why worry about what others think

when/if the drunk wants to stop drinking it must be their own choice ... cause ... no body can do it for you ... however IF it isn't a problem DON"T make it into one! HAVE FUN!

7. exactly
having been married to somebody who i think is an active alcoholic, i agree completely with what you say.

i myself don't drink anymore-- it interferes with my medication. but if you want to drink and you're not hurting anybody and it doesn't have an adverse effect on your life, then drink away! :toast:

(btw i really really want one of your apple martinis some day-- just one drink will not wreck me!)

10. thankfully i can quit at just one
alkeeholism runs in my family and i have a tendency toward addictive behaviour, but miraculously i can stop drinking after just one or two.

of course, after three i pass out due to my meds, so i've got a built in safety valve :P

11. honey ... that's not a safety valve
mixing meds and alcohol can be deadly ... so if you aren't supposed to drink ~ please don't

maybe I should ask what you're taking before I start mixin

12. i'm allowed one or two occassionally
they're your standard anti-depression/SSRI type drugs. nothing that's fatal if mixed. now some of those old-skool drugs, otoh....

13. thank you

I take my drinking, my partying AND the wellbeing of my friends very seriously. I've got lots to do before I shuffle on off of the mortal coil this time.

15. i hear you there
having been once married to an alcoholic has made me take things very seriuosly too. and i'd never want to do anything that would reflect badly on you. that's just selfish and immature. :pals:
