It's official, I am a klutz
Are any of you klutzes, too? Do you know what it's like to be walking across flat ground and find the one loose pebble that'll send you flying on your butt?

I'm always running into tables, missing steps and if there's a hole hidden in your lawn, invite me over, I'm guaranteed to find it.

Last night after grilling and dining outside I was in the process of carrying in the dishes. I have a tray of plates and silverware balanced on my left arm using my right hand to open the door. I make two good steps into the kitchen when I hit the one tiny wet spot on the floor and take off sliding into the range. Plates and silverware go flying everywhere, everyone comes running inside to see what happened and they find me crawling around trying to clean up the evidence.

The good news is nothing broke. The bad news is I have a mildly sprained ankle and some wicked bruises where I smacked into the range.

Grace thy name is Lone_Star_Dem. :eyes:

1. I could trip over a shadow, I think.
And I sometimes fall over for no reason.

Sorry to hear about your ankle.

3. I think I have tripped over a shadow before!

That's whatI blame those unexplained spills on. :D

The ankle is actually no big deal, it's a pretty mild sprain.

2. We should start a club!
I find the tiniest things to trip over. Sorry about your ankle though!

Hope it heals fast. Bruised egos hurt too!

5. The ego is the real problem
You know when you fall in private it's no big deal, but when you do it in front of an audience... well, you know it's gonna take a while for you to live down the ribbing.

Once when I had guest over I tripped over my dog and landed in one of my guest's lap.

15. Walking on the boardwalk in SanFrancisco on a rainy day
with my husband, you guessed it! DOWN I went on the WET boards. Came up a LOT faster though, LOL my poor A$$ hurt SO bad and my jeans were soaked! Talk about embarrassing, the place was very busy with tourists!

I can laugh now but then, I just wished the boards would open up and swallow me.

19. I know that feeling all too well.
Walking out on a wooden pier one fourth of July night with a group of friends. I was in the rear and the other 5 people had already walked where I was about to. Woosh! There was a missing board with a gap just the exact same size as my size 6 1/2 shoe. I fell in up to my hip and they had to come pull me out.

4. It's genetic
I get it from my parents. Not the most graceful people in the world, and I'm just like them.

6. You may be right
Last time my mom was here she fell in the pool. My sister fell down the stairs on her last visit. I think we need to wear warning stickers so people know not to stand too close to us. :)

The meetings will be held in a room with a padded floor and there will be no breakable objects allowed. :D

I guess I'm so used to doing stupid stuff, that's not true. :eyes:

23. The good news is the sight of blood doesn't freak you out.
A guy friend of my daughter's faints if he sees his own blood. Anyone else's doesn't bother him in the least, but if he sees more than a few drops of his own, Boom! he's out like a light. :D

24. As long as we're not talking the Spindletop, I'm ok.
I can't watch surgery or anything, but a little blood won't mess me up too bad. My own blood usually just irritates me more than anything else, because it's usually coming out as a result of me doing something dumb. :D

8. Could be worse
I know someone who can't walk and talk at the same time. Unfortunately she can't stop talking. She found the same pothole 3 years running in the parking lot where she worked at the time. Sprained her ankle each time-same ankle even.

OK, at least I learn from my wipe-outs and move on to new potholes each time. :D
