The New Season Of Stargate SG-1 Looks Like It's Going To Be Great.
Edited on Sun Jul-31-05 04:03 PM by arwalden
Stargate SG-1 has a new villain! I think Ben Browder (from Farscape) will do a great job as the new commander in charge of SG-1. I think it's an absolute HOOT that Claudia Black (also from Farscape) has a recurring role.

Even though I'm sorry to see Richard Dean Anderson's character (O'Neil) being phased out... it looks like the cast changes (and new villains to defeat) will breathe some new life into the series.

Considering how much religion and religionists have taken over our own government... and the violence that is carried out by the believers in the name of their gods... the new storyline seems to be very deliberate and quite timely.

Have you been watching? Personally, I don't plan to miss a single episode!

5. I like it.
I'm a longtime fan of the show, and I was worried about the changes, but it looks like it's going to be good. I've really enjoyed this season so far. I wish I'd watched Farscape.

6. never watched farscape
started watching SG-1 when it debuted on Showtime mny years ago. I was happy 2 see it moved 2 SciFi. It is one of my guilty pleasures. I too watch the Monday afternoon(PacTime)/night marathons. I am orry Anderson's role is disappearing as well as Tapping/Samantha. I liked Sam. Is Claudia Black the person teamed w/ Daniel the last few episodes?

am looking forward to the new season.
I will miss his dry sense of humor and sarcastic wit.

I also watch all the reruns: Monday marathons and even on WB on Sunday nights. (I even own the first 6 seasons on DVD  )

10. I watched SG-1 and Farscape from way back in the day till now.
I don't know how I feel about the new SG-1.
I miss General Hammond and Jack. I don't like Jack as a General and I don't like the fact that they phased out Sam.

They should have kept Farscape.

11. Won't miss an episode either!
The writing on this series has been great. I'm sorry that Richard Dean Anderson has decided to leave, but I think they have found some good actors to fill in.

I love the whole premise of the series and have been a fan since the start.

13. I Miss The Opening Credits Theme Music...
... I'm hoping that the decision to have an abbreviated (micro) version of the Stargate theme song is based on the fact that the new storyline is still developing... and presumably the final regular cast is still being formulated.

Maybe they've already got a more permanent version of the opening theme song (and video)... but if they were to present it now, it might give a clue to the outcome of upcoming episodes.

Or maybe there just isn't enough action-oriented "stock footage available of each of the new characters that could be included in the opening credits.

I'm being much too hopeful and optimistic. The most likely reason is that if they don't waste 60 seconds on cool credits and theme music, they can sell another two 30-second commercial spots.

Sigh.

14. I think that the new storyline should prove to be very interesting...
Is Amanda Tapping gone for good? I thought that she was going to be staying on. In any case, after the first 3 episodes this season, I think that Browder and Black are working out quite well, and if Blacks role is only a recurring one, I hope it recurrs quite often.

As a side note, I have to say that I love Bit Torrent. I can forget to tape a show, and not worry about it, being able to download it later!!

16. Well,
you can get a bit torrent client here:

http://www.bittorrent.com/

Or the one that I use is:

http://www.bittornado.com/

Then you need to find sites that have links to active torrents, called torrent trackers, I will PM you some of the links that I've got...

Then, sit back and wait a couple of hours to download (assuming you have a broadband connection...).

17. I thought it was a cheesy start when the medevil King Arthur
storyline began. But it did get better with this Ori-religious fundamentalist storyline with new vilians. I am more optomistic now.

So far SciFi Friday is off to a good start in the new seasons.
