Freeper school board member gets busted in Hyde Park, NY

HYDE PARK - Two school board trustees say comments posted on a Web site by new board member Kevin Post may conflict with his obligation to uphold state and federal education laws.

In telephone interviews last week, Trustee Doug Hieter said a district resident contacted him about Post's comments on the Web site www.freerepublic.com under the user name kphockey2. Hieter said he's particularly concerned about seemingly homophobic comments made by Post.

In some postings, kphockey2 is accompanied by the identifier "Yasser Arafat burn in Hell" or "Michael Schiavo burn in Hell," a reference to the husband of Terri Schiavo, the vegetative Florida woman who died after her feeding tube was removed by court order earlier this year.

8. I'm sure that my opinion won't be popular here...

and let me preface this by saying WHAT AN ASS! He posted WAY too much identifying info about himself. He laid his own trap.

However, it scares me that even we DUers have to be concerned about what we post, lest some "do-gooder" report us to our employers. Remember when Will Pitt was attacked a couple of years ago by DUers, who reported his posts to his employer and asked that he be fired?

I guess the lesson here, and at Free Republic, is, if you post much identifying info about yourself, BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU SAY. I wouldn't want Post sitting on my school board with his opinions of gays and Democrats. And I am sure Republicans wouldn't want me sitting on their school board, with my opinions of Bush and Republicans.

I just hope that everyone at DU takes this news to heart...be careful about posting info that reveals your identity, and, then, be careful what you post, if you have posted identifying info.
