I never did an update on my exchange student experience! here it is,

the short version:

we had a great time. She was awesome, while the program she was in was not. Very disorganized. We had a blast for the month she was here, it was more expensive than expected (that had a lot to do with the program and what they told us to expect and what they did and not provide) But it was worth it in the long run. We now have a home away from home in Spain! And I learned more spanish and she learned more english, which was the main reason she came anyway.


here we are in San Francisco, after shopping...which she wanted to do constantly!

2. I've also started school...my brain is mush, my house is a wreck, and I

don't have any clean clothes! I somehow manage to feed the Flea and the two kittens every day, I wish I could say the same for the DH and myself! I'll be back on more often soon, after Aug. 19th!

little side story about Poppy (her nickname)

her and her friends were typical teenagers, spent a lot of time looking at themselves in the mirror, so I teased her about it, of course! Our language barrier made it hard to really express teasing, so I just finally imitated her looking in her compact and said 'Poppy is the BEST!' We all had a good laugh, but when I wrote her a letter to say goodbye, I told her she really was the best, and we loved having her.
