Diet Coke with Splenda, Diet Coke, and Coke Zero . . . .
:wtf: is going on?

I like Diet Coke, and I like Splenda, but Diet Coke with Splenda is not so good.

I like Diet Coke (the regular old recipe).

What's the diff with Coke Zero?

Are they intentionally trying to confuse me?

1. I'm not fond of regular Diet Coke
Caffeine-free is OK, though. I like the Splenda stuff, Coke Zero is horrid, I tried it once and couldn't even finish the bottle.

3. Caffeine-free
goes flat really fast. I wonder why that is..must be some kind of correlation between caffeine and fizz.

5. I think Coke Zero tastes a lot like regularly sweetened Coke too.
So I guess it's a 3rd recipe for Diet Coke.

I still like regular old Diet Coke too!

Seriously. Read about it the other day.

Coke's Calorie-Burning Enviga Slated for 2006 Debut

Wed Jul 27, 5:17 PM ET

NEW YORK Coca-Cola is planning to launch Enviga, a soda that is said
to burn 50 to 100 calories just by drinking a 12-oz. serving, next
year, per one executive.

Enviga, a green tea-based, caffeinated, carbonated drink, is in
clinical testing and is said to speed up the user's metabolism. The
beverage will target active lifestyle consumers. A Coke rep said,
"Some may find their way to market and some may
not." Studies have shown that drinking green tea may promote weight
loss by stimulating the body to burn calories

22. 100 cans per week = approx losing 2 pounds a week
Somehow I have the feeling that this won't be the magic weight loss bullet.

You must completely boycott any company that doesn't conform!!! And you don't have a choice in the matter!!! Or you will receive a fistful of snark, right upside your head!!!

This is the way the world works.

19. My poor mother, she's 75...
and this is the most confusing thing to her. Once a month she buys a case of soda. She likes to have caffeine free, Diet Coke. She can only afford one case a month. Inevitably, she'll come home with regular caffeine free Coke, Coke Zero, Vanilla Coke, Diet Vanilla Coke, etc. It's rare that she brings home caffeine free Diet Coke in two consecutive months. She always says the same thing, "I checked to see if it was CFDC..." She doesn't think she can take it back, so she stores it. She has case upon case of Coke products she never uses. She has more than enough for any visitors stopping by. I guess we're going to have to start taking her shopping, which is not a pleasant experience with her. I don't think the Coke folks are going to do anything about the fact that all their packaging looks the same to her.

I like aspartame. I've never had any problems with it. Some people are sensitive.

29. I love C2 as well!
My husband brought it home to try it. He said it tasted like cat piss so I didn't have high hopes.

Shockingly, I loved it. To me it tastes just like all-sugar Coke that has gone a little flat, which just happens to be the way that I like soda. I actually prefer it to regular Coke!

I think you and I are the only ones in the whole world though, so it will probably be taken off the shelves soon. I should stock up before that happens. :-)

30. I'm a big, in many ways, Coke drinker
I tried C2 to enjoy my favorite beverage in a somewhat healthier form. I liked it at first, bought a case and haven't drank it since. I never liked Diet Coke. I haven't tried Coke Zero yet though, someday maybe.

I am currently big into Caffeine Free Coke, Sprite and Dr. Brown's Black Cherry Soda. I sleep much better without so much caffeine.

26. I love Diet Coke with Splenda....
Edited on Tue Aug-02-05 09:39 AM by Debbi801
But, I get an instant allergic reaction to anything that has nutrisweet in it. So, up until diet coke with splenda, i was stuck drinking regular coke. Bleck. Too sweet and syrupy.

Aside from that, I have no idea why there are so many version of diet coke made with nutrisweet. I can understand the lime, lemon, and even vanilla versions for people who like that kind of thing. It is the regular diet coke, zero, c2 stuff i don't get.

Plus, I was surprised at the grocery store this weekend to see that they even still make Tab. Does anyone even buy Tab any more?

28. Personally I like the splenda stuff
Tastes EXACTLY like reg coke to me.

But I've been used to splenda for quite a while. I hate the taste of aspartame, and am not fond of the headaches I get when I drink too much of it (too much = over 10 cans a day)
