Well, this morning I got a call back from the bus company. That behavior is vehemently disapproved by the company, the cashier got a warning and is undergoing a "recycling course". (Their words -- "curso de reciclagem")

I'm mostly for letting people's religious beliefs alone, but aggressive prosletyzation of captive, unwilling members of the public is totally fucking unacceptable. There's been a problem near where I live of evangelicals harassing skaters in a skateboard park. Of course there's no law (and shouldn't be) against telling people they have a chance to go to heaven, but harrasment is harrasment, and that's prohibited for a damn good reason. There's a difference between persecuting someone for their beliefs and holding them accountable for unprofessional behavior. What that person did was very unprofessional, and someone needed to remind her (via her employer) to stick to her job and quit harassing people.

I applaud him for taking the initiative and doing things the right way instead of confronting the woman and making a public scene.
