Can someone help me with a quote?
I am trying to quote Thomas Jefferson when he said something along the lines of "you are crazy if you give up your freedom for security." Does anyone know the exact quote? This is for a school paper I'm writing.

Thanks.

1. It was Benjamin Franklin

Something like: Those who would give up their liberty for security deserve neither."

That should give you enough to Google for the exact quote.

They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

3. Not sure of the exact quote. But first off, it's Ben Franklin, not T.J.
And it goes something like "He who would give up essential liberty for safety deserves neither" or something like that. Look it up on the net, it'll be there.

Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

on edit: I googled, pretty sure this is the exact quote.
