I called the guy who interviewed me this morning...
and asked if a decision had been made. I said that I was still very interested in the position, and I need to see the direction he was going. Of course, he was out of town today, so it was a message on his voicemail, but it has been a week, and I need to quit wondering. Hey, he said contact the office for any reason, and even if that was bullshit, I took him up on the offer:shrug:

I have another interview tomorrow, way the hell in the burbs. It is in Schaumberg, and I live in Chicago, so I am not sure how optimistic or enthusiastic I am about that.

I am so bloody sick of interviews right now. I am so ready to work from 9-5, 5 days a week and have a life other than this.

Keep your fingers crossed....

1. I've missed the story in its entirety. What do you do?
(what position are you looking for?)

I have high-profile experience, but in this economy, if you don't know someone, this position is not easy to get. In May, I got a job working for a non-profit, but there was a hiring freeze and a week later, I was called into the office and told that they would love to have me back in March, but due to funding issues, they could not afford me. I was so happy to get that job after my temporary retail nightmare, which involved a robbery, three bounced paychecks and so much stress that my hair was falling out.

I interviewed for another agency, but I recieved a call from her saying that the position was not going to be filled until next year.

It has been a fun summer:cry:

Thanks everyone:hug:

5. I'm in the same position as you.
I had a second interview last Thursday - still haven't heard. It's total bullshit that they can't let you know in a timely manner. Especially after a 2nd interview. After a first interview, sometimes you don't even get a call. But you damn well should after a 2nd one.

6. exactly
I think they should just say "There is no chance that we are going to hire you, but thank you for your interest". It would be easier and less stressful than waiting by the phone!

I hate it when people do not promptly do what they are supposed to do. It is unprofessional. I also hate it when people do not follow-up. Which, I would guess is why he would need a meticulous, well-organized and borderline OCD executive assistant to help him with his affairs;).

I just found out I didn't get the job. Fuckers sent me a letter. Totally unprofessional after a 2nd interview.

9. Do you ever go to the Monster discussion boards? For some
reason reading about others experiences makes me feel like at least I'm not the only one who gets treated without respect(plus there's a lot of good advice there).

I just found out today that a company I applied for through a temp agency didn't want to interview me because I was with one company too long and they wanted someone who worked for a variety of companies.:eyes:

Doesn't sound very honest to me (and the temp agency thought it was ridiculous).

In any case, though it is aggravating I'm getting beyond taking this stuff personally. I was more than qualified for the position and am a hardworker as my references would attest to - they're the ones who made the bad decision.

Good luck to you, I hope you hear soon.
