Attention left wing wackos: ethical dilemma
So I've been offered this job to craft messages for a federal pilot program that helps young children of the National Guard and Reserve get connected to community resources and services. It's attractive because it it's designed to help mend broken families and war-torn lives. It's unattractive because wingnuts might seize upon it politically as a recruiting tool ("see, your familiy will be taken care of") or drum-bangers might use it to appease their guilt ("we have something to help support the families of our troops, which of course supports our troops, so let's all get our drumsticks out.").

So, is this job most going to:
1) help out young children, themselves victims of the war?
2) help The Man keep doing what he's doing?

3. You're helping the kids
I doubt most people would consider having their families go on public aid to be a great reason to join the Guard.

Do it.

4. I'd rather have you doing it then the wing-nuts you're describing.
Pick your battles, though. Sounds like it could be emotionally challenging to say the least, especially for a DU'er (what's with the wacko word in the title?).

6. you'll be helping more kids who need it...
than developing a recruiting tool. "see, your familiy will be taken care of...when you get you legs blown off or worse" is not much of a recruiting tool.

7. Please, do it.
Do it for the kids and spouses... do it for the next time, when it might be nescarry for soldiers to put thier bodies between 'thier own loved homes and war's desolation'. Yes, it wasn't needed this time. But that's not the fault of the troops, nor the spouses, nor the kids.
And if anyone talks politics, point out how obnoxious they're being.

16. Do it
Military families have a rough time---hardest of all is when a loved one is away in a combat zone.
