let's say it's a primary and that the Democrat you would vote for is going to win in a landslide and you know it.

Why not take a GOP ballot and vote against the front runner. Give the democrat a chance to have a less popular GOP opponent.

I did this in '92. Tsongas was going to win the Mass. Democratic Primary. There was no way he wasn't going to. So I took a GOP ballot and voted AGAINST G.H.W. Bush. (I think I voted for Buchanan.)
